Caring for newborns is one of the greatest joys of being a pediatrician. We learn how to support the nutrition of our patients throughout their early childhood and adolescence but promoting infant nutrition through practical breastfeeding training was something I felt medical school and residencies often overlooked for pediatric trainees. I am grateful that I got to focus on this critical aspect of pediatric care while at CPCMG by becoming a certified lactation consultant, and I am excited to continue to spread this important knowledge to caregivers, colleagues, and future generations of pediatric care providers.
