Personal Statement:

“I have wanted to be a pediatrician since I was a child. I loved medical school and was particularly interested in ophthalmology and psychiatry, but at the end of the day, I felt most drawn to children. Kids are beautiful and fun, they make me laugh every day, and they are full of resilience and potential – they are inspiring! I love that I can partner with children and their families to help them stay healthy, while having a special seat to watch them grow, learn, mature, tackle challenges, and celebrate triumphs.

I have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband for more than 20 years. We have three children, currently ages 10, 12, and 14 years. They all play a lot of sports which keep us moving, and we love the beach, camping, fishing, Padres baseball, and Baja California. In my spare time I love cheering for the Padres and my kids’ teams, cooking new recipes, and gardening. I volunteer in the children’s program at our church and help coach softball when I can. I try to move outside every day, whether it’s practicing a sport with my kids, jogging with the dog, or doing a hike at the beach on days off.”
