Ashley Martinez, MD, FAAP

Personal Statement:

“Growing up with two parents who were teachers, I knew I was going to end up in a career working with children. During college, I worked as a preschool teacher which cemented my love for teaching and taking care of kids and working with their families to give them the best educational and social experience possible. Pediatrics is the perfect career for me as it combines my loves of science, teaching, and working with children and families. I love all aspects of general pediatrics, but I gain the most enjoyment from well child visits as I love seeing children thrive and caregivers feel empowered as they help their children navigate childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood. I also have a passion for resident and medical student education.

Outside of work I love reading (particularly being part of my book club), improving my cooking skills, learning through podcasts and documentaries, and spending time with my family and friends.”
