Personal Statement

“I was drawn to pediatrics for the preventive care aspect, as well as the joy I felt during my toughest days in medical school while working with children. As a pediatrician, I am privileged to be a part of a person’s growth and development from the beginning, and it is my mission to help children on the path towards their best health, to see them live out their dreams. I look forward to each day, given children’s amazing imaginations and silly phrases they blurt out. I also enjoy building a therapeutic relationship with caregivers, equipping them with knowledge to put to practice at home and having them teach me new things to apply to other families.

I love to spend my spare time with family and friends. My household is a beautiful blend of Mexican (me) and Persian (my husband) culture. We enjoy cooking various meals, spontaneous dance parties in the living room, performing as a duet by the piano (I sing and my husband plays), relaxing on the couch while enjoying a good show or sporting event, exploring the expansive San Diego food scene, and staying active by the beach or on hiking trails.”
